2010 September Program: National Leadership Visit & Effective Business Communication

IREM Chapter 45 is pleased to present a unique, two-part program at the Golden Valley Country Club on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.

During the first half of the program, 2010 IREM National Secretary/Treasurer Jim Evans will offer a national perspective on risk management and workforce development. Risk is inevitable in all business environments, and Jim will discuss how to identify and manage risk in the real estate management industry. Real estate management companies, like other businesses, are being challenged more than ever before to identify, attract, develop, reward, and retain a quality pool of talent–a task made even more challenging in the face of declining profit margins, higher labor costs, and competing career options. Jim will share recent workforce data and what we can expect in years to come.

In the second half of the program, we are pleased to welcome Stuart Vass, Adjunct Professor at DePaul University, who will speak about effective business communication email skills. Email has rapidly become the most common form of business communication, but most of us have not been taught how to use it to our best advantage. Stuart will share tips for ensuring your communications are clear and effective.
