Chapter Officers

Donna Becker

As a general manager for Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq, Donna Becker is responsible for the management of ATRIA Corporate Center, a 400,000 SF, Class A, LEED certified office building, and US Bank Building, a 25,000 SF office building in the Twin Cities. In this capacity, she is accountable for all management aspects of the projects on behalf of institutional and traditional real estate investment firms.
Donna has over 25 years of property management experience in commercial real estate with an emphasis in office and industrial products. She previously worked for Cassidy Turley Midwest, Inc., Piedmont Office Realty Trust, Inc., Welsh Companies LLC, and CB Richard Ellis, Inc. Throughout her career, Donna has provided property management services for a wide variety of institutional, corporate and entrepreneurial clients. She has extensive experience in all aspects of property management including staff development, operations involving sustainable or green practices, LEED and Energy Star certification, leasing, and renovation and construction projects.
Donna earned a Bachelor of Science degree in real estate with an emphasis on appraisal from St. Cloud State University. She is a licensed real estate salesperson in Minnesota, and holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the LEED Green Associate designation from Green Building Certification Institute. She is currently working towards a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.

Lynnette Muhich

As a General Manager for JLL, Lynnette manages a team of property professionals with a portfolio of five office buildings with over 755,000 SF and eight industrial building with over 680,000 SF.  She manages tenant relations, property professionals, tenant improvements and financial reporting.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Metropolitan State University and a Mini-Master of Investment Real Estate from the University of St. Thomas.  She is a licensed real estate salesperson in Minnesota and holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

Laura Steffes

Laura Steffes is a property manager at Upper Midwest Management in New Hope, MN and has 20 years of property management experience. She previously worked as a commercial property manager for Pinehurst Properties in Minneapolis for 9 years. She began her career in multifamily residential properties, transitioning to commercial management in 2004. Laura oversees the management of 200,000 SF of office and retail properties in the Twin Cities. She manages tenant and vendor relations, budgets, financial reports, capital projects, and maintenance staff.

Laura has been a member of IREM since 1998 and obtained the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation in 2007. Since 2007, she has served as an executive councilor, co-chaired the Education Committee for 7 years, co-chaired the Programs Committee in 2014, and co-chairs the Public Relations Committee in 2015.

Laura is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and holds a MN Real Estate Broker’s license. She enjoys gardening, yoga, golfing, home improvement projects, and spending time with her family.

Dennis Meadows

As a Senior Property Manager for Cushman & Wakefield / NorthMarq, Dennis Meadows is responsible for an industrial, retail, and office portfolio in excess of 870,000 square feet for institutional owners and entrepreneurial clients. Dennis is a resourceful and highly motivated professional that is fully committed to client and tenant satisfaction.

Dennis began his career in commercial real estate in 1993 at NorthMarq Capital administering mortgage loan payoffs and managing borrower's escrows. Dennis joined the United Properties, the predecessor to Cushman & Wakefiled/ NorthMarq, in 1997. His management experience consists of high¬ profile Class A and Class B office towers/buildings, retail centers and industrial buildings. He has also held positions with Kraus Anderson and Vantage Point Partners. Dennis is a licensed real estate broker in Minnesota and holds the Certified Property Manger (CPM®) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from Building Owners and Management Institute (BOMI).
Dennis has served on the Community Outreach and Experience Exchange committees for IREM as well as serving as an Executive Councilor. From to 2011 to 2014, Dennis served as the Project Captain for IREM’s annual Hearts & Hammers projects and was awarded the Spirit of IREM award in 2014.

Dennis is a graduate of The University North Texas, receiving a Bachelor Of Arts Degree in Public Administration and a minor in Business Administration, and has honorably served in the United States Army.

Mel Schultz

Mel Schultz is a Senior Asset Manager at New Concepts Management Group, Inc. He has a portfolio of commercial associations, homeowner associations, landlord/tenant office and retail space, mixed use and receivership properties. Mel has been in the real estate industry since 2003; when he earned his Real Estate License. Additionally, he has earned the designations of CCAM (2003), CPM (2007), and CCIM (2011). Mel is highly involved in the Leadership of IREM and CIC Midwest. In 2013, he was awarded “Manager of the Year” at the CIC Midwest Awards gala. Mel enjoys doing community service work such as Hearts & Hammers, Special Olympics, People Serving People and local church events often bringing his children along to participate. In his free time you can find him with his family or on the golf course.

Gayle Dreon

Gayle Dreon is a Senior Property Manager for IRET Properties and has worked at Southdale Medical Center since 2001. Gayle and her team manage a large group of medical properties for IRET. Gayle started her career in real estate at Butler Square in downtown Minneapolis and after leaving Butler Square, spent the next 15 years doing a variety of office & flex properties for United Properties. She joined IREM in 1988 earned her CPM designation in 1991. Gayle also holds the RPA designation from BOMA and has been active in both organizations throughout her career. Away from the office, Gayle enjoys cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Cathy Kleve

Cathy is a property manager with Hines, based in Minneapolis. She is responsible for managing and leasing U.S. Bank Plaza, a 1.3 million square foot office building in Minneapolis.
She became an IREM Member in 2009 and earned her CPM designation shortly thereafter. Active in IREM’s Minnesota Chapter No. 45, she serves as a member of the chapter’s Executive Council, as co-chair of its Education Committee, and was co-chair of its public relations committee for the past two years. At the national level, she is currently serving on the National  Executive Committee and was co-leader this past year  of IREM's  Young Professional Task Force.
In addition to her affiliation with IREM, she is a member of BOMA. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, in 2006.

Angela Samargia

For over six years Angela managed over 1,500,000 square feet of industrial, office and retail commercial properties for investment owners, receiverships and owner/users. Currently, Angela is managing onsite a 200,000 square foot office building in the warehouse district of Minneapolis as well as a number of industrial and retail buildings in the greater Minneapolis area.  She enjoys working with the property owners providing quality services to maintain the assets and accomplish each asset’s goals, as well as working with the tenants and vendors to build long term relationships.

Shanon Ployhart

Shanon Ployhart is responsible for an affordable and conventional multifamily portfolio consisting of 1,804 units and has properties throughout Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas, South Dakota and Ohio.  Shanon’s 14 years of property management experience include luxury rental apartments, HOA, affordable, senior housing, and student housing.  Shanon has extensive experience in property management, project management, financial analysis, client relationships, forecasting, budget preparation, contract negotiations, development, marketing, implementation, and both corporate and onsite personnel training. 

As an award-winning property management professional, Shanon received a MADACS Award for Community Manager of the Year in 2009, the Pinnacle Exceptional Performance Award in 2009 and CPM Candidate of the Year presented by IREM in 2011.  She is currently serving on the Executive Council, is the Co-Chair of the Social Committee and is serving on the Charitable Outreach Committee for the Institute of Real Estate Management.  She also serves on the MADACS Committee with Minnesota Multi-Housing Association.

Deanna Kalkman

Deanna Kalkman joined Jones Lang LaSalle to assist with the development of the Property Management division in the Minneapolis market. Her responsibilities include managing property budgets, controlling building expenses, coordinating with vendors, maintaining owner & tenant relations and reporting monthly financials.  Deanna’s current portfolio consists of two commercial downtown Minneapolis high rise buildings totaling 550,000SF.

Deanna started in property management in 2007 after working in the banking industry for four years.  Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Ms. Kalkman worked her way from administrative assistant, to assistant property manager, to property manager and now to General Manager.  She began her career with Welsh Companies in 2007, moved to Transwestern in 2010 and has been with Jones Lang LaSalle since 2012.

Frederic Manning

Fred Manning, ARM® has served the apartment industry since 1998. While attending the University of St. Thomas he was hired by Kleinman Realty Co. as the Resident Manager of a 17-unit apartment building in the Midway area of St. Paul. Fred was later hired in 2004 to manage a 39-unit property in the Macalester/Groveland area of St. Paul and continues in that role today. In 2011, Fred was promoted to the position of Assistant Portfolio Manager and has since become a Portfolio Manager for Kleinman Realty Co. with approximately 1500 apartment units in his portfolio.
Fred has been an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) since 2011. He earned the Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) designation in 2011. Fred was presented with the ARM® Of the Year Award through MN Chapter 45 in 2012. Fred currently serves the Local Chapter as an Executive Counselor and Chair of the Income/Expense Committee in addition to his pursuit of the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation.

Traci Tomas

Since joining Continental Property Group (CPG) in 2005 as a Property Manager, Traci Tomas earned the reputation for providing straightforward answers, executing strategies and delivering results. Currently as President, Traci controls all facets of the company’s operations leading a team of dedicated professionals in the areas of acquisition, financial analysis, due diligence, asset management, property management, development and leasing. Traci is directly responsible for CPG’s portfolio of over three million square feet of commercial property from California to Florida which includes office, industrial, retail, medical and multi-family.

Traci earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from St. Cloud State University. She is a MN licensed Real Estate Broker and holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation as well as a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.

Traci was recognized by the Minneapolis- St. Paul Business Journal as one of the Top Women in Business, being awarded in 2009 as a “Woman to Watch.”
